I should really update this more... - 01/25/2010 11:14am
I noticed I hadn’t updted this in like 3 years...wow time flies.
What has happened in 3 years
- Was a founding memeber (tech lead, i.e. if it was on a computer I probably did it) of a startup, we lasted about a year before we folded. Lots learned.
- Left Eaton Vance to work on Obama’ site thruogh the election.
- Lost like 75 pounds I put on during the 80 hour work weeks I was pulling during the startup.
- Took some time off, played too much WoW; worked briefly for a small marketing firm doing web stuff.
- Rekindled a flame with an ex, dated her for a few months until she got bored and left.
- Found a new gig where I get to do more interesting things, like help architect how we can accomodate 50k-100k concurrent users.
- Started dating *another* ex, beginning to see a pattern here...
Not much else to report, pumped for a new season of Red Sox baseball and Rebellion softball!
In other news...
- Massachusetts just elected republican candidate Scott Brown to take Ted Kennedy’s seat. I’m pretty bummed personally, as his political interests include *not* creating a public health care option and *not* taxing the super rich. Sigh.
- The supreme court just made a controversial ruling on corporate personhood. Essentially it relaxes rules around campaign contributions, in that corporations are "people", they now have no limit as to what they can donate to a campaign. What this boils down to, in my mind, is that corporations can now just buy politicians straight up. Sigh.
- There’s this whole hilarious debacle over at NBC regarding Conan O’Brien and Leno, after 7 months of hosting the tonight show they tried to bump his time slot in favor of Leno, at which Conan balked. Now NBC is just going to pay out Conan’s contract (40 million dollar payout!) to make the situation go away. The whole ordeal has been pretty hilarious across much of prime time.
That’s it for now. ^ TOP
